![]() ![]() What About My Stimulus Check?
Dear Ali,
Stimulus checks, also called economic impact payments, have started to be distributed to Americans this week. These payments, a response to the COVID-19 pandemic's affect on the economy, are being sent from the IRS via direct deposit or mail.
When will my check arrive? If you filed your 2018 or 2019 tax return, and also have direct deposit from the IRS already in place, you will be among the first people to receive your check. Paper checks will begin to be mailed on May 4th, with priority given to lower income individuals.
How much will I receive? Most individuals who earn less than $75,000 per year will receive a $1,200 check. However, if you earn more than $75,000 a year, your check will be reduced, and those earning more than $99,000 a year will not be eligible for any money.
Additionally, in order to receive a stimulus check, you must have a social security number, and not be claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax returns.
If you would like to find out if you are eligible for a stimulus check, or when your check will arrive, visit: irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment.
I hope that this email finds you and your family well and safe.
Sincerely, ![]() ![]()
